About Me.
Vicki's Reiki Lineage
A Reiki Lineage is a documented "family tree" tracing a practitioners master back to founder Mikao Usui, ensuring the authenticity of the training. All valid lineages originate with Usui, typically flowing through Chujiro Hayashi to Hawayo Takata within western practices; and through various Japanese societies within eastern practices.

Iris Ishikuro
One of Takata's 22 master students who believed Reiki should be more accessible to all. She championed
more reasonable fees after Takata's death. Iris only had two students, Arthur Robertson and her daughter Ruby.
Hawayo Takata
Japanese-American woman, and student of Dr. Hyashi. Trained in Tokyo and introduced the practice of Reiki
to the Western World through her practice in Hawaii in 1937.
Dr. Churjiro Hyashi
Naval Physician and student of Usui who took over Usui's practice after his death. Through his scientic approach and dedication to healing he helped expand Reiki into a more effective, structured practice propelling Reiki into the mainstream.
Mikao Usui
Student of history, medicine, Buddhism, Christianity, psychology and Taoism; Usui founded modern day Reiki in Japan in the 1920's after experiencing a spiritual awakening upon Mt Kurama and acquiring the ability to heal. Usui created a method in which to connect others to "universal life force" energy through a master-student training method that involves use of reiju, or attunements, to remind students of their spiritual connection, and empowering them to connect with Reiki energy.
